Chamba: Today, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla undertook a comprehensive tour of various areas in the Chamba subdivision that have been affected by recent disasters. His visit aimed to assess the situation firsthand and engage with local residents to understand their challenges. He emphasized the need for prompt action from departmental officials to address the concerns raised by the community.
During his inspection, the Governor examined the landslide-affected stretch of the National Highway close to Gram Panchayat Kariyan. He also evaluated the damage in Kalsooni, Gharwala, and Lothal Ghar, where significant portions of the highway have suffered severe impacts.
In a show of spiritual support, Governor Shukla prayed at the historic Trilochan Mahadev Temple located near Gharwala, seeking blessings for peace and prosperity for the residents of Himachal Pradesh.
Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal provided the Governor with an update on the damage assessment and the restoration initiatives being implemented by the district administration. The visit was accompanied by local leaders, including MLAs Neeraj Nayyar, Vipin Parmar, Dr. Janak Raj, D.S. Thakur, BJP District President Dheeraj Narayal, the Governor’s Secretary C.P. Verma, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav, along with officials from various departments and the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation.
